How do you prove that someone stole cash from your home?

from home cash From Home Cash ad

Can a warrant be issued for an individual for stolen cash from someone’s home?
Money was in home day before in a ziplock baggie. The guy left money was gone. Someone at a store said they saw him with 0′s, but he had also went to work that day.
Also, I don’t think he has a very good record, he has been in trouble in the past.

    NO you can’t.

You need evidence, at least a witness seeing him breaking in and out of your home or holding the zip bag. Or his finger prints inside you home or the zip bag. (you failed to explain if you let him get inside the house)

As for the $100 bill you need to prove it’s yours (finger print or having recorded the serial numbers). He could have just been spending his own money.

No warrant can be issued based on speculating, even if he has a criminal record.

I know it sucks to have something takeng from you but to hunt people blindly can get you into a lot of troubles for nothing. Let the police do their job.

that all depends….ig there was a serious amount of money taken and the police have just grounds to get a warrant then yes

  • "Googy":

    Dust for prints.

They aren’t going to issue a warrant without some probable cause. What proof do you have that this person did it or that you even had the money to begin with?

the same way you prove you had cash at your house to steal!

  • Orbach:

Not on speculation, you need some real proof……Like catching the individual on camera in the act……..Otherwise it’s your word against theirs…….

Just be his/her friend go to their house and when they turn their back, take something that is worth the amount they took from you….lol
Remember what George Bush said we will take this fight to your back yard, house, state, country and or cave…..

  • Monster:

You need evidence to prove it. Otherwise it is he said she said and nothing will happen.

You would have to prove that the person had exclusive opportunity to take the money. If the door to the house was unlocked and there were several people in the house coming and going it will be hard to prove.

You’d need more evidence – You could call CSI =D

If you think the person is going to do it again maybe put a camera up…
